“Dark Days”
by
MLZ
“M-brane” opens the twelve with a perfect declaration of intent, taking in and re-building the ringing, layered techno of chain reaction’s substance, basic channel’s immense “radiance” and the endlessly padded bassline stylings of shackleton’s"blood on my hands" to come up with a searing widescreen classic in 4/4 that just seems to build forever. “Dark days” on the flip is an altogether more squashed affair, the burning embers of peak-time dub-techno reconfigured into a reverberating mass of bass splinters, towering delay and fragmented percussion that sounds like pole, t++, monolake and burial rolled into one.
